We are pleased to announce that this week, a milestone has just been reached: we have confirmed the purchase of our aircraft, the Hummingbird!
Since we want to be able to patrol for long hours to increase our chances of locating boats in distress, we have decided to equip our aircraft with long-range fuel tanks. This will allow us to have an autonomy of nearly ten hours.
This technical specificity (added to others) will require modifications and is a work in progress. It is for this reason that we will not be able to take possession of the plane until the end of April.
We are then planning to ferry it to Malta Island from where we will leave for search operations off the coast of Libya.
